Sitting thinking alone as we often do In a romantic sunset I picture me and you There are times when you’re close to me wherever you are And yet times when you’re far away when I’ve lost my heart
In the moments when everything’s so beautiful and sad, The melodies flow through me to you and I’m glad There’s a meeting place we can go to In our hearts.
What’s it like for the lonely the weak and the old Why should children feel frightened why should we be so cold And yet times the worlds full of such love and beauty With its art and its culture and warm harmonies
What a paradox of man that’s so needlessly A cross we could overcome easily If we just stopped pretending and learned How to open our hearts.
